Enterprise AI startup Ema has raised $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Bengaluru- based investment firm Creaegis, with existing investors Accel, Section 32 (S32) and Prosus also participating in the round.

The latest investment takes Ema’s total funding raised to $140 million. The company said its valuation has increased more than fourfold since its previous funding round, although it has not disclosed its current valuation.

Founded in 2023 by former Coinbase Chief Product Officer Surojit Chatterjee and Souvik Sen,Ema develops AI agents designed to automate business processes across functions such as human resources, information technology and finance.

Ema describes its AI agents as “AI Employees”, which are designed to handle multi-step business workflows across the software applications used by enterprises. The platform can execute tasks, check the results and route work to human employees when approval or intervention is required.

According to the company, its platform integrates with more than 250 business applications and enterprise systems. Ema's customers include organisations such as Wipro, Hitachi, ADP and PwC.

The company said its revenue has grown 50-fold over the past 24 months. Ema also highlighted deployments involving large enterprise workforces. In one deployment, its platform supports more than 240,000 employees across 65 countries and handles around 2.9 million employee queries each year.

Ema plans to use the new funding to strengthen its go-to-market operations, including sales and marketing, while continuing to develop its enterprise AI platform. The company has also expanded its senior leadership team as it prepares to scale its commercial operations.

The funding comes as enterprises increasingly explore AI agents capable of carrying out end-to-end business processes rather than simply assisting employees with individual tasks. Ema is positioning its platform around this shift, with applications spanning HR, IT and finance.
