Pune-based fintech and brokerage firm Definedge Securities Broking Private Limited has raised Rs 22 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round, taking its total capital raised to Rs 30 crore.
The company plans to deploy the fresh capital to expand its technology infrastructure, strengthen margin funding capabilities, scale marketing and distribution, and accelerate product development in artificial intelligence and automation. Definedge will also focus on expanding its AI-driven wealth-tech and algorithmic trading platforms as it looks to support a larger base of retail traders and investors.
The funding round saw participation from existing investors Nitin Agarwal and D. Prasad, along with new investors Anant Jain and Sachin Kasera. The company said the latest round was raised entirely through equity and follows its first institutional and angel funding round, which closed in November 2025.
A key focus of the company will be Momentify, its rule-based wealth-creation platform. Definedge said Momentify has crossed Rs 1,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) in around 15 months and is targeting Rs 5,000 crore in AUM over the next 24 months.
Definedge also plans to scale Algostra, its no-code algorithmic trading platform, while expanding its trading and analytics products, Zone and Opstra. The company will further strengthen its Gurukul learning ecosystem for retail investors.
Definedge Co-founder and CEO Prashant Shah said the company aims to bring research, analysis, investing, trading, education and automation into a more connected platform over the next two to three years, with AI playing a larger role.
Founded by Prashant Shah and Rajesh Badiye, Definedge initially focused on investor education before expanding into full-service broking. The company said its user base has grown 125% over the last 14 months and 10 times over the past 36 months.
Definedge currently operates more than 14 platforms covering options analytics, technical analysis, algorithmic trading, systematic investing and investor education.
