Flipkart Ventures, the investment arm of Flipkart, has invested in two Indian startups, Alive and Keploy, as part of its latest early-stage investment programme. The latest investment brings two AI-focused companies into Flipkart Ventures' portfolio, covering consumer experiences on one side and software development and testing on the other.

Both startups will receive capital from Flipkart Ventures, along with access to its business and technology ecosystem, according to the company.

Alive operates an AI-powered platform for discovering and distributing lifestyle experiences, while Keploy develops software testing technology that uses AI and automation.

Alive uses an AI-based technology stack to create and distribute lifestyle experiences. The company currently lists more than 500 experiences across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Goa.

Its platform covers experiences across different locations and categories, allowing users to discover activities through its digital platform. Keploy develops an open-source platform for continuous software verification.

Its technology converts application traffic into replayable regression tests and digital-twin environments. These tools can be used by engineering teams to recreate production scenarios during software development and testing.

The company also focuses on testing software that incorporates AI-generated code, with the aim of identifying errors and regressions during the development process.

Flipkart Ventures said it has invested in more than 20 startups since its inception. Its portfolio spans artificial intelligence, consumer internet, fintech, logistics technology and businesses linked to e-commerce.

As part of its latest programme, Alive and Keploy will have access to Flipkart teams for guidance in areas including business, product development, technology and finance.

The startups may also explore integrations with Flipkart's wider ecosystem, the company said. Nishant Verman, SVP, Corporate Development and Partnerships at Flipkart, said the investment programme is intended to provide early-stage companies with capital and access to Flipkart's operational expertise.

Flipkart Ventures has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to support technology startups in India.
