US-based food delivery company DoorDash plans to create 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through a new global technology hub in Hyderabad, marking an expansion of the company’s operations in the country.

The Hyderabad centre, opened on Wednesday, will initially focus on customer support and general and administrative functions. The facility is expected to begin operations with around 500 employees, according to the Telangana government, Reuters reported.

The new facility will become DoorDashs second technology office in India, after its existing presence in Pune. The Pune operations include software, data and analytics teams that came to DoorDash following its 2021 acquisition of robotics startup Chowbotics.

The Hyderabad facility will also be DoorDash’s third customer support centre globally, alongside its centres in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City.

DoorDash’s expansion comes as global companies increasingly establish Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India to support technology, operations and corporate functions. Companies have been expanding their presence in Indian cities as they seek access to skilled talent and build global operations.

Hyderabad has emerged as a major destination for such investments. DoorDash joins companies including Costco, McDonald's, Charles Schwab, Marriott and Southwest Airlines that have recently established offshore operations in the city, according to Reuters.

India currently hosts more than 2,100 GCCs, employing around 2.36 million people and generating nearly $100 billion in revenue, according to a 2026 report from Nasscom-Zinnov cited by Reuters.

DoorDash is already recruiting for multiple roles in Hyderabad, including positions across customer support, workforce planning, IT, human resources, data and technology. The company’s India careers page lists Hyderabad-based openings as part of its growing India operations.

The latest investment strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a key hub for multinational companies establishing global technology and support operations in India.
