Accenture outlook lifts Indian ITstocks

Indian IT stocks rose on Monday after Accenture issued a stronger-than-expected revenue outlook, improving sentiment across the sector ahead of the September-quarter earnings season.

The Nifty IT index gained about 1.5% in early trade, according to Reuters, before trading 1.1% higher at 10:06 a.m. IST. The gains followed Accenture's quarterly results, stronger bookings and its fiscal 2027 revenue forecast.

Accenture reported fourth-quarter revenue of $18.68 billion for the fiscal year ended August 31, up 6% in US-dollar terms and 7% in constant currency from a year earlier. New bookings increased 4% to $22.17 billion.

For fiscal 2027, Accenture expects revenue to grow 3% to 6% in local currency. The outlook drew investor attention as the company’s results and guidance offer a read-through on technology spending by large global enterprises, many of which also work with Indian IT services providers.

Shares of Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech and Tech Mahindra were in focus following the results.

Accenture also reported continued demand for artificial intelligence and technology transformation projects, with more than 400 clients initiating advanced AI work during fiscal 2026.

Subdued discretionary spending, pricing pressure and productivity gains from AI could constrain near-term growth. Accenture’s forecast also includes acquisition-led growth, so it should not be treated as a direct measure of organic growth for Indian IT companies.

Investors will now turn to September-quarter results and management commentary from Indian IT firms for signs of whether improving technology demand is translating into stronger revenue growth.
