Orion Innovation has unveiled the next generation of its OI NEBULA suite, expanding its agentic artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across enterprise software development, legacy system modernisation and application maintenance.
Announced on November 3, the upgraded suite is now generally available to enterprise customers worldwide. The company said the release follows more than a year of collaboration with developers and enterprise clients. OI NEBULA is designed to coordinate specialised AI agents across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), covering multiple stages, including requirements gathering, architecture, coding, testing, security and deployment.
A key addition to the suite is OI GORDIAN, a tool focused on legacy system modernisation. It analyses existing applications to identify business rules, workflows, dependencies, system behaviour and data structures. The platform then generates documentation and knowledge assets to help organisations understand older systems before planning modernisation projects.
Another component, OI GANTRY, is designed to oversee AI-powered coding assistants, including Cursor, Claude Code and GitHub Copilot. According to Orion, it monitors their activities and identifies potential issues such as inaccurate outputs, stalled sessions and deviations from project specifications before they reach the code-review stage.
The latest NEBULA release also introduces greater autonomy for long- running tasks, AI-assisted application development and maintenance, a metrics dashboard and additional governance capabilities.
For enterprise deployments, the platform includes human review mechanisms, enforcement of engineering standards and real-time security remediation. Orion said customers can deploy the suite on their own infrastructure or through private cloud environments.
Rajul Rana, Chief Technology Officer at Orion Innovation, said the upgraded platform was shaped by collaboration with developers and enterprise clients. Chief Executive Officer Brian Bronson highlighted the combination of agentic AI capabilities and the company's software engineering expertise.
Orion also cited its ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, which relates to AI management systems. However, this certification does not independently establish the performance or effectiveness of the NEBULA platform. The company did not disclose comparative performance benchmarks or quantified results demonstrating the platform's impact on software development productivity.
The launch reflects the growing adoption of agentic AI in enterprise software engineering, where AI systems are being designed to handle increasingly complex development tasks while retaining human oversight and organisational controls.
