Nikon has launched its new Z5IIC full-frame mirrorless camera in India, bringing AI-powered autofocus, 4K video recording and in-body image stabilisation to a camera designed for
photographers and content creators.
The camera uses Nikon’s Z mount and features a full-frame FX-format sensor. It combines automated shooting modes with features aimed at users who want more control over photography and video without having to manually adjust every setting.
The Z5IIC comes with Nikon’s AI-powered autofocus system, which uses deep-learning technology to detect up to 10 types of subjects. Its autofocus can operate in low-light conditions down to -10 EV, according to Nikon.
For handheld photography and video, the camera features 5-axis in-body Vibration Reduction, offering up to 7.5 stops of compensation at the centre of the frame. This is designed to reduce blur caused by camera movement.
The camera supports 4K UHD video recording at up to 60 frames per second, although 4K/60p recording uses a DX crop. It can also record Full HD video at up to 120fps for slow-motion footage.
Nikon has included features aimed at vloggers and other creators, including a dedicated recording indicator, Product Review Mode and USB connectivity for webcam use and live streaming.
The Z5IIC also supports 10-bit H.265 recording and Nikon’s N-Log, giving creators additional flexibility during video production and colour grading.
The Z5IIC uses a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image-processing engine. The camera has a standard ISO range of 100 to 64,000.
Nikon has also added its Film Grain function, allowing users to create a film-inspired look in photographs and compatible video modes.
The Z5IIC is designed to simplify camera operation through 15 scene modes that automatically adjust settings based on the selected shooting situation.
A dedicated button provides access to Nikon’s Imaging Recipes, allowing users to apply preset colour and tonal settings without manually adjusting multiple controls.
The camera also features a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen, which can be used for framing, focusing and playback. Nikon is offering the Z5IIC in black and silver body options.
The Nikon Z5IIC body-only version is priced at Rs 1,39,995 in India, inclusive of taxes. Nikon says the camera will be available from mid-October 2026 through Nikon outlets across the country.
The camera is positioned as an option for users looking for full-frame image quality while also wanting automated shooting features and video capabilities for photography, vlogging, short- form content and live streaming.
