Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, bringing
together global technology companies, telecom leaders, policymakers, startups and investors to showcase developments in next-generation
connectivity and digital technologies.
The four-day event, being held from October 7 to 10, is organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). This year's theme is “Scale Without Boundaries”, focusing on digital innovation, next-generation connectivity and technology-led growth.
IMC 2026 is centred on four pillars — Srishti, focused on building the future; Samvardhan, aimed at fuelling growth; Sashakt, focused on expanding opportunities; and Suraksha, centred on strengthening trust in digital ecosystems.
The event covers nine established technology sectors, including 5G and 6G, next-generation AI networks, semiconductors, non-terrestrial networks, cybersecurity, quantum communication, enterprise transformation, circular economy and ESG, and electronics manufacturing. Four additional areas — smart mobility, stadium experiences, industrial robotics and transport technology — have also been added to this year’s programme.
The government expects IMC 2026 to draw more than 1.5 lakh attendees from over 100 countries. The event is also expected to feature more than 500 partners and exhibitors, 600 startups and 900 thought leaders, along
with over 2,000 technology use cases and more than 120 sessions.
The congress comes as India expands its focus on advanced telecom infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and emerging connectivity technologies. The event also provides a platform for companies and technology leaders to discuss investment, innovation and the development of digital infrastructure.
At the event, Modi highlighted the role of Digital India in expanding access to technology and bridging the digital divide. He also called for technology- driven solutions to address cyber fraud and stronger global standards around emerging technologies.
With its focus extending beyond traditional telecom services to AI networks, 6G, satellite connectivity, robotics and cybersecurity, the 10th India Mobile Congress positions India at the centre of discussions on the next phase of digital infrastructure and connectivity.
