Gurugram: Seeds Fincap Pvt Ltd, a non-banking financial company focused on lending to small businesses in India, has raised more than Rs 100 crore in a Series B funding round led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

Existing investors Z47 and Lok Capital also participated in the round, along with Norinchukin Capital and Alteria Capital, according to the company. Unitus Capital acted as the exclusive financial adviser to Seeds Fincap for the transaction.

The funding comes as Seeds Fincap plans to expand its lending operations and aims to reach Rs 1,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) by March 2027. The company said the new capital will support expansion into additional markets, while strengthening its branch network, technology infrastructure and risk-management capabilities.

Seeds Fincap uses a technology-supported, cash-flow-based approach to assess borrowers, with a particular focus on nano enterprises, or very small businesses that may not fit traditional credit-assessment models.

The company said its lending process combines local market knowledge with data collected across sourcing, onboarding, credit assessment, documentation, collections and portfolio monitoring.

Seeds Fincap reported that it remained profitable in both FY25 and FY26, with total disbursements of around Rs 620 crore in FY26. As of August 2026, the company’s AUM stood at Rs 722 crore, while its branch network had expanded to 164 branches and its active customer base exceeded 70,000 members.

The company said the latest investment will help it reach more small-business owners while maintaining its focus on underwriting and portfolio quality.

Subhash Chandra Acharya, MD and CEO of Seeds Fincap, said the participation of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and existing investors reflects confidence in the company,s lending model. He said the funding would support the compan’s expansion, technology and workforce while allowing it to serve more entrepreneurs and underserved communities.

Rakesh Goyal, Head of Financial Services, India, at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, said nano entrepreneurs need access to formal credit that reflects the way their businesses operate. He said Seeds' combination of local knowledge, data and lending processes could help expand access to credit for small-business owners.

Anish Patil, Principal at Z47, said the investor's continued backing was based on Seeds Fincap’s underwriting approach and focus on India's MSME and individual lending segments. With its AUM at Rs 722 crore as of August 2026, Seeds Fincap is targeting nearly Rs 1,000 crore in AUM by March 2027 as it expands its lending operations across India.
