Vivo has announced OriginOS 7, its new smartphone operating system based on Android 17, bringing changes to the user interface along with new artificial intelligence features from the
company.
The update includes Jovi AI, Vivo’s AI platform, and a redesigned interface called Dynamic Glow. The company has also introduced changes to system interactions and cross-device connectivity as part of the software update.
Vivo has opened the OriginOS 7 Preview Programme in India, Thailand and Malaysia. The preview will allow users with eligible Vivo and iQOO smartphones to access the software before its wider rollout. Availability will depend on the device model and market.
OriginOS 7 combines Android 17 with Vivo’s own software layer and AI features. Jovi AI is being integrated into the operating system as the company continues to add artificial intelligence-based functions to its smartphones.
The software update also brings changes to the visual layout and system interface through Dynamic Glow. Vivo has made changes to how certain elements of the interface appear and respond to user interactions.
The company has not indicated that all Vivo and iQOO smartphones will receive the update at the same time. The rollout will depend on individual models and regional availability.
The announcement comes as smartphone manufacturers increasingly incorporate AI features directly into their operating systems rather than limiting them to individual applications. Android 17-based software is also expected to become more widely available across smartphone brands as manufacturers begin their respective update programmes.
For users enrolled in the preview programme, the early release will provide access to OriginOS 7 before the stable version is rolled out more broadly. Vivo is expected to announce additional compatible devices and rollout details as the update progresses.
