Meta has launched Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business initiative aimed at helping companies and developers use its artificial intelligence models, AI
agents, and developer tools.
The platform, announced on September 28, brings together Meta’s AI technologies, including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, under an enterprise-focused offering. Meta said the platform will focus on helping businesses use AI to grow and transform their operations.
As part of the launch, Meta has appointed Chirantan “CJ” Desai as its Chief Enterprise Platform Officer. Desai, who previously served as CEO and president of MongoDB, will report directly to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Before joining MongoDB, he held senior roles at Cloudflare and ServiceNow.
Meta said the new platform will turn its AI technology into products and services that businesses can deploy for their own operations. The company is bringing together its AI models, agents, infrastructure, and experience working with businesses as part of the initiative.
One of the key products being brought to businesses is Muse, Meta’s AI agent that can perform tasks on behalf of users. Muse was introduced earlier this month and is designed to handle tasks such as sending emails and booking travel.
Meta has also expanded Muse for small businesses, allowing users to connect tools such as Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe, Canva, Slack, Notion and Zoom, along with their Facebook and Instagram business accounts. The company says businesses can give Muse goals and allow it to help manage tasks while requiring approval before actions such as publishing, sending, or spending.
The launch comes as technology companies increasingly develop AI agents that can perform tasks across business applications rather than simply generate text or answer questions. Meta’s move puts its AI models and agent technology into the enterprise software market, where companies are looking to automate workflows and improve productivity.
Meta said security and privacy will be built into its enterprise products as it develops the platform and expands its AI offerings for businesses.
