Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch its first intelligent eyewear in mid-December, expanding its wearable technology portfolio into the
growing artificial intelligence (AI) smart glasses market. South Korea and the United States are expected to be the first markets to receive the
product, with expansion to other regions depending on initial consumer demand.
According to a report published by South Korean newspaper ChosunBiz on October 30, Samsung Electronics has finalised its December launch window and selected the two countries for its initial rollout. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed the retail launch date, market availability or pricing.
The product, referred to as Intelligent Eyewear, is expected to combine Samsung's hardware with Google's Android XR platform and Gemini AI. Its built-in camera will provide visual context for AI interactions, while voice and gesture controls are designed to let users access digital assistance without constantly reaching for their smartphones.
The smart glasses are expected to support features such as real-timelanguage translation, navigation guidance and information capture. Users will also be able to photograph documents, whiteboards and meeting scenes, with captured information organised through the Notes app on connected Galaxy smartphones.
The device is reportedly powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform and offers up to nine hours of usage on a single charge. Its charging case is also claimed to provide up to seven additional full charges.Actual battery life may vary depending on usage.
Samsung has developed the eyewear in collaboration with fashion brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, combining smart technology with different frame designs. The company showcased additional designs and product capabilities at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026.
The reported launch would position Samsung against Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, increasing competition in the AI-powered wearable technology market.
Pricing, everyday usability, privacy safeguards and regional availability will be important factors in determining whether Samsung can attract consumers beyond its existing Galaxy smartphone user base.
