India now has 127 unicorn startups following KreditBee’s entry into the billion-dollar club on April 8, 2026. The fintech platform raised a $220 million Series E round led by Motilal Oswal, Hornbill Capital, and Dragon Funds, achieving a valuation of $1.5 billion.
KreditBee is the second Indian unicorn of 2026, following Neysa — a Bengaluru-based AI acceleration cloud platform — which joined the club in February after raising a $600 million Series B led by Blackstone at a $1.4 billion valuation. At the current pace, India is on track to mint around six unicorns this year — matching the 2025 total.
