Xiaomi's Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi 17C 5G will launch in India on October 1. The company announced the launch date on Friday and shared images showing the phone's rear
design and colour options.
Redmi has listed Dark Night, Coffee Brew and Purple Dawn as the colour options for the Indian market. The company has not yet disclosed the Indian price or the complete specifications of the handset.
The Redmi 17C 5G has already been introduced in some international markets. The global version comes with a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.
The international variant features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W wired charging.
The smartphone runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 in international markets and supports microSD-based storage expansion. It also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water.
However, these specifications relate to the international model, and Redmi has not confirmed whether the Indian version will have identical hardware and software configurations.
The Redmi 17C 5G was launched in Singapore in August with a starting price of SGD 279. The Indian price is expected to be announced closer to the launch.
Redmi's October 1 launch will provide details about the Indian variant, including its pricing, storage configurations, and availability.
