Apple has launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, its most recent high-end smartphones, which include a new A20 Pro chip, improved camera systems and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The emphasis of the new Pro models is on photography and video, and Apple is introducing a variable-aperture camera system to the iPhone for the first time. This technology enables the main camera to vary its aperture according to the lighting and shooting conditions, giving users more control over exposure and depth of field.
Both of the models have a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera, together with improved ultra-wide and telephoto cameras. Moreover, Apple has introduced new controls in order to provide professional users with more flexibility when taking photos and videos.
Displays of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches: The 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display is found on the iPhone 18 Pro, whereas the Pro Max has a bigger 6.9-inch screen. Both versions of the phone support ProMotion and can reach a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The devices also have a smaller Dynamic Island, which gives the most recent Pro models a more refined front design.
The performance is managed by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which has been designed to boost processing performance and to support more demanding on-device AI functions. The company has also improved thermal management in order to enable the devices to keep up their performance when dealing with intensive workloads.
Battery life has also been improved. Apple says that the iPhone 18 Pro can offer up to 34 hours of video playback, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max can provide up to 43 hours.
AI is still at the heart of Apple’s most recent strategy for smartphones. The new models come with iOS 27 and include enhanced Siri AI features which enable the assistant to carry out a greater number of personalized tasks throughout the operating system.
Apple has also added new colors to the Pro range. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will go on pre-order on September 12, with sales starting on September 18.
